Flying is one of the primary means of magical transportation, and while not the fastest way of getting around, it is by far the most common. As the Mistress of Flight, it is my goal to instruct every student in not only the basics of flying, but in every aspect of magical flight.
Flying is mandatory for 1st Year students--even those who may have already mastered the art prior to their admission to the Institute. Advanced Flying Techniques are available for 2nd and 3rd Years, but these classes are electives only.
Participation in a Coven Quidditch or Quodpot team by a 1st Year student is allowed only by obtaining a Letter of Flight Competency by the Mistress of Flight. All students 3rd Year and up are eligible to participate in the Institute's Annual Broom Race.
