As explained in Tuesday evening’s class each of you will be required buy a telescope. This will remain your ‘scope for not only this year, but until you complete your last class in your 5th Year.
The basic telescopes the Institute purchases for their students are enchanted to allow stellar tracking, and can be sighted using either a finderscope (the preferred method for all 1st Years) or through charms.
These are the basic telescopes:
15, 20 and 25 centimeter Newtonian Reflectors
15, 20, 25 and 30.5 centimeter Dobsonian Reflectors
15, 20 and 25 centimeter Schmidt-Cassegrain and Maksutov-Cassegrain Catadioptrics
